Served on the HCISD School Board for 6 years as an At-large Trustee and for 2 years each as Vice President and Secretary

CEO/President of the Keeping Communities Connected, non-profit organization I founded 6 years ago; mission is to help connect communities, families and individuals to informational content and resources that will nurture, educate, and grow them.

I am a “serial volunteer” in the community – even though my youngest child graduated from Hays HS in 2016, I continue to volunteer in support of such diverse groups as For the Love of Go, Buda Chamber events, School theater plays, supporting law enforcement fundraiser, and I continue to attend school basketball and football games to support students in the district.

✔ I know our future lies in the hands of our children and its important that we support them in the stands, on the field and in the classroom. I’ve be doing this since 2006.
✔ As a Justice of the Peace (JP), you are on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You serve at the pleasure of the position and the responsibilities that come with it. For example, the JP is called out all times of the day or night to pronounce a death, also known as an “inquest.” The JP must be committed to responding when called and one must be readily available.
I HAVE THE BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE TO PERFORM THE ROLE OF JUSTICE OF THE PEACE
- The JP has jurisdiction over criminal and civil matters and must be open to hearing the case and making decisions based on the facts.

In addition to functioning as a “judge of the justice court,” the JP acts as a local registrar for the Bureau of Vital Statistics, issues search or arrest warrants, emergency protective orders, handles failure to attend school offenses and other offenses against juveniles, ex-officio notary public, performs wedding ceremonies, conducts inquests and collect money for the county.

✔ I love giving back, planting seeds, and building relationships! Whether I am serving at the concession stand for a football game or hosting National Night Out in my community or representing women on the Hays Caldwell Women Center board, it all leads back to the calling and purpose of servanthood.
✔ Running for Justice of the Peace impacts the lives of real people. I have very high standards and strong work ethic. I treat people with respect, dignity and listen to learn and understand the facts.
